Learn how TG4 Solutions intends to inspire innovation within the sneaker industry with our open source sneaker database

At TG4 Solutions, we have a strong passion for sneakers and are always looking for ways to innovate within the sneaker industry. During our initial analysis of the industry, we could not find an easily accessible sneaker database for developers. Some of the large players in the industry like StockX have a database and offer access to their data via APIs. However their selection process does not favor the average developer. So we decided to create our own sneaker database to remove one of the barriers of innovation within the sneaker industry.

Sneaker Data

Currently our sneaker database consist of about 8k sneakers from brands such as Nike, Jordan, Converse, and Adidas. For every sneaker in our database we attempt to obtain the following information:

  • Sneaker Brand
  • Sneaker Name
  • Colorway
  • Manufacturer Style Id
  • Release Year
  •  Image of Sneaker
  • Gender
  • Retail Price

While this is not a comprehensive list of sneaker data, we believe it is a great starting point and we will continue to expand our data set with developers in mind.

How You Can Help

In order for our sneaker database to be successful we have to have reliable data that users can trust. The best way for us to gain credibility is for you to test our database and provide feedback. This partnership with our community enables us to provide a product that is trusted and empowers innovation.

Currently we are in the process of developing an Application Programming Interface for our database. In the meantime, if you are interested in seeing what our data looks like we have developed a simple web app that will allow you to search and validate our data (thesneakerdatabase.com).

Next Steps

We will continue to grow the dataset that powers our sneaker database with data that you can trust. If we are missing data that is needed for your solution, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are always looking for ways to make our data more robust so that you can spend more time developing your solution rather than gathering data.
